Concave-convex lens, also known as meniscus lens, can minimize the spherical aberration and produce the minimum normal incident light focus. It is based on the relative curvature of the two surfaces. A crescent lens can be a positive lens or a negative lens. The central region of a negative meniscus lens is thinner than its periphery, while the center of a positive meniscus lens is thicker than its periphery.
A Meniscus Lens is a special type of lens that consists of a convex surface on one side (outward curvature) and a concave surface on the other side (inward curvature), forming a crescent shaped lens as a whole, hence its name.
